Disney and Pixar are not the same company. Disney is a multinational entertainment and media conglomerate, while Pixar is a subsidiary of Disney that specializes in creating computer-animated feature films. Disney acquired Pixar in 2006 for over $7 billion, and since then, Pixar has operated as a separate division within the Disney company. Pixar continues to produce its own films, but with the support and resources of Disney. Both companies have collaborated on several successful films, including the Toy Story series, Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles.
